Ineedaprayer Foundation is a Jesus-Christ centered nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children, young adults, and adults to gain victory over disaster and loss. We are a small, religiously affiliated public benefit nonprofit corporation, and we are incorporated and registered in the state of California. Our current information packet is available here.

What work do you do?

Our work revolves around caring for the physical AND the spiritual needs of vulnerable people. Jesus said we are to feed his sheep [John 21:18]. We take this to mean that we are to care for the spiritual as well as the physical needs of those we care for, and this principle guides everything that we do. Our mission is to reach out to those in need with love and compassion, teaching His Word and providing what is required to meet the needs of the body and the spirit. Because of this, our work is both a charity and a ministry; we consider ourselves to be compassionate evangelicals committed to fulfilling the commandments of our Lord to reach out to others in a way that truly feeds them, both in body and in spirit.

What are your current areas of emphasis?

At the present time ineedaprayer foundation is involved in three primary areas of helping:

Food, shelter, and medical aid for at risk children...
Our primary focus area at this time is caring for children who are abandoned or orphaned, and secondarily for children at risk. The figures for children in these categories worldwide are truly heartbreaking. Every day, more than 10,000 children are orphaned worldwide as a result of AIDS alone, and every day almost 4000 children will die simply because they have no access to clean drinking water and sanitary conditions. In almost every major city of the developing world, homeless children are eking out impoverished lives alone, hungry, in danger, without medical aid, and without love. These children make their homes wherever they can find modest shelter; they live in abandoned buildings, under bridges, in boxes, and anywhere else they can find some protection from the elements. These children sleep on the streets, begging for food, and they live without guidance and without hope. Ineedaprayer foundation seeks to improve the lives of these children one by one by providing nourishing meals, safe & comfortable housing, support, and love. Our long-term goal is to build "ineedaprayer centers" in strategic locations where children in need can be cared for in a safe, Jesus-christ centered environment where they can experience the aspects of family, friendship, and faith that the tragic conditions of their lives have so far denied them.

Kevin Logan - Chief Executive Officer

A dedicated servant of the Lord, our chief executive officer Kevin Logan is an active worshipper of God and a devoted follower. At 26, Mr. Logan is a young lion who embraces the administrative burden of running a non-profit organization day by day, and who serves the organization with energy and vitality. He has been the creative vision behind multiple business enterprises, and sits on the board of multiple corporations.

Thomas W. Tupper - Chief Technical Officer

As chief technical officer, Thomas Tupper has nearly two decades of technology experience and sits on the board of two corporations. He is responsible for the technology underpinnings required to operate the organization on a day to day basis, including the various web sites we operate and their supporting infrastructure. Mr. Tupper earned his baccalaureate degree from Iowa State University of Science and Technology, and his graduate degree from the University of Missouri - Columbia.

Evelio Delacruz - Chief Financial Officer

Evelio Delacruz, our chief financial officer, is an elder statesman and has been serving the Lord for more than 30 years. He earned his juris doctorate in the Philippines before his emigration to the united states, and serves on the executive leadership board of Spirit and Truth worship center in Orange, CA. as well as on the board of ineedaprayer foundation.

With an entirely volunteer (unpaid) administrative staff and executive team, and with facility costs met through fixed sources, ineedaprayer foundation boasts one of the most favorable administrative to program cost ratios out there: zero; administrative personnel costs at ineedaprayer foundation consume 0% of donation revenue. .

Bibles and bible study materials for impoverished believers...
Ineedaprayer Foundation has committed to helping ministries around the world to spread the Word by helping them to obtain the bibles and study materials that they need. In wealthy societies like ours, it is easy to loose sight of the fact that in many parts of the world people simply cannot afford to purchase a bible. In India, for example, an english language bible costs more than two days wages for the average person. In other countries the situation is even more dire. In Egypt, for example, a believer must not only face great persecution, they must also face the fact that a $2.50 english bible costs the equivalent of a month's wages. Even in the United States, there are still people who cannot afford a bible or bible study materials. Such conditions make it difficult for believers and those new in the faith to advance in their study, and ineedaprayer foundation is committed to the provision of study helps to such people at no cost.

Toys for sick, injured, and disadvantaged children...
Beyond basic survival needs like shelter and nourishment, and beyond spiritual needs, lay a host of needs for children that include the simple joys of being a child; laughter, imagination, play. All of these things are denied to children who come from the backgrounds and situations we address here at ineedaprayer foundation. We take it as self evident that children need to be children in order to grow into healthy adults. Play for a child is more than mere fun, it is a way of fostering growth and emotional well being. For this reason ineedaprayer foundation devotes a small percentage of revenue to providing toys to sick, disadvantaged, and injured children.

Why is a faith based approach so important?

We see a faith based approach as being the only way to really help people in need. It is not enough to feed a child's flesh; for anyone to grow and flourish they must receive nourishment for their spirit as well as their flesh. Indeed, the bible tells us that "he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life" [Galatians 6:8]. This passage is an indication that only corruption can arise from a preoccupation or emphasis upon the flesh. All flesh dies; no person lives except by the spirit. Therefore, how can we commit ourselves to caring for the physical needs of others yet neglect their need for the Spirit? If we walk in truth, we cannot. Therefore we have committed ourselves to a vision of faith based helping that addresses body and spirit at the same time. We believe that this comprehensive approach is the only way to bring lasting blessings into the lives of those we are trying to help.

Aren't you really just trying to spread your doctrine and beliefs?

We don't see our role as spreading a doctrine, but we aren't ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and we see it as integral to helping people overcome their difficulties. We are Christians and ineedaprayer foundation is a Christian faith based organization; it is natural therefore that we should emphasize a Christian ethic and belief structure in everything that we do. The Holy Bible teaches us that the ills of our world are a consequence of sin, and that sin itself is a consequence of our separation from God. We believe that encouraging and restoring a relationship with God is a necessary and vital part of helping people out of difficulty, and in fostering a healthy and successful life.

Why give to you instead of one of the many other Christian charities?

We believe that many of the Christian charities operating today have lost their way in the search for revenue. While we are aware of the fact that many charitable organizations claim the mantle of Christianity, our belief is that most simply do not, upon close examination, honor the creator in whose name they labor. At Ineedaprayer Foundation we've made a choice to keep Jesus at the center of everything we do, and we believe that this dedication, combined with our faith-based program structure, distinguishes us from other Charities. We also boast a program to administrative cost ratio that is enviable, with one hundred percent of your donations going to program costs and none of your donation being frivolously squandered on administrative costs.

Can we really make a difference in a world so broken?

When one considers the fact that every minute of the day 3 children are dying needless deaths because of dirty drinking water, or when one thinks about the 640 million children worldwide that live without adequate shelter, it is easy to feel that the problems we face as a people are simply beyond repair, and in truth this viewpoint is a forgivable response. But the truth is that when we talk about addressing these problems, we are really talking about the lives of innocent children all over the world. While it is true that we might not be able to save each of the millions of children that will die useless, preventable deaths this year, there is no doubt that if we work together and try, we can save some of these children. We believe that the size of the problem doesn't excuse us from seeking to address it, for in doing so we are doing what God has commanded us to do when He said that we are to love each other as He has loved us (John 13:34). The work we do together will save children's lives; your contributions to Ineedaprayer Foundation will make a difference. In this there is sufficient purpose.
